MANILA, Philippines — Francis Lopez and CJ Cansino went back to Subic on Friday to personally apologize to the carnival employee after they were seen pulling down his mask in the “horror train.”

Cansino uploaded the trip of the Fighting Maroons last December 16 on his YouTube vlog, where Lopez was seen poking fun at the masked staff.

Two weeks after the clip went viral to the dismay of several social media users, the two players returned to Subic and reached out to the 21-year-old carnival worker, who requested to remain unnamed.

“There is no excuse for what we did. We try to make something right out of this. This is a life lesson for me,” said Lopez in a press release by UP’s Office for Athletics and Sports Development.

UP OASD said the carnival staff accepted the apology of Lopez and Cansino and assured them that there were “no hard feelings.”
