The former La Salle Lady Spiker, who won the UAAP Season 85 championship and placed as the MVP runner-up to rookie Angel Canino, had an impressive rookie year in the PVL, stepping up in the 2nd All-Filipino Conference for the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

However, Dela Cruz sustained a right knee injury after a bad fall against PLDT and never returned to action followed by the disbandment of F2 Logistics.

Dela Cruz and the Foxies didn’t disclose the injury and the timeline of her recovery.

Farm Fresh assistant team manager Kiara Cruz shared that their team is already aware of the do-it-all outside spiker’s injury but it didn’t stop them from pursuing her, believing the future is bright for Dela Cruz when she makes her debut as a Foxy.

“We are aware that she can’t play yet because of her previous injury from last conference but, honestly, we believe iner her talent and passion for the sport. Even Boss Frank (Lao), believes this and pursued her and Jolina probably saw how genuine we are in our intentions,” said Cruz. “We are very confident that she’ll regain her form and become a better athlete after this. Rest assured, we will all be behind her in her recovery.”

Dela Cruz is one of the nine prized recruits of Farm Fresh for the 2024 PVL season. The Foxies, meanwhile, will bank on Caitlin Viray and holdovers Trisha Tubu and Kate Santiago as well as setter Louie Romero.

“We are grateful to these players because we didn’t only choose them. They chose us. And the fact that we’re just getting started to rise, they still picked Farm Fresh. It means they believe in our vision,” said team manager Janica Lao. “We promise to take good care of them and provide them with whatever they need to become a better player as we also grow together as a team.”

Farm Fresh had a winless debut conference in the Invitational but the Foxies had a breakthrough in the second All-Filipino, winning two of their 11 games to finish 10th.
