Rivera takes Asian karting pole position over 3 foreigners

CARMONA, Cavite—The Philippines’ Milo Rivera of Tough Gear-Fern C Racing takes the pole position for the Pre-Finals today following an impressive show at the start of the 2012 Asian Karting Open Championship Series at the Carmona Racetrack.

The 16-year-old Rivera gained the best consolidated points from the three qualifying heats yesterday.

Foreign aces took the next three spots at the starting grid. Gabriel Arcaradine of Indonesia, who clinched the runner-up honors in the Macau kickoff, will start second with Mohammad Nasri Naufal Bin Nasir of Singapore and lone Thailand bet Tanapon Nokkaew behind in third and fourth.

Another Filipino—Christopher Joseph “CJ” Tsui—completed the top five cast in the Pre-Final races set in the morning. The Final races are set in the afternoon.
