MANILA, Philippines—Magnolia is keeping a positive mentality despite facing a commanding deficit against San Miguel Beer in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

The Hotshots got blown out 109-85 by the Beermen in Game 2 but coach Chito Victolero believes the series is far from over.

MANILA, Philippines—If Game 2 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals proved anything, it’s that there’s a reason why June Mar Fajardo is a seven-time MVP, according to coach Jorge Gallent.

After the Beermen’s 109-85 decimation of Magnolia on Sunday for a 2-0 lead, Gallent heaped high praises toward Fajardo, and for good reason.

MANILA, Philippines—Not long after the final buzzer sounded signaling the end of San Miguel Beer’s lopsided win over Magnolia in Game 2 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals, more drama ensued involving Hotshots forward Calvin Abueva and the wife of Beermen big man Mo Tautuaa, Aida.

In a video by INQUIRER Sports, Abueva and his wife Sam figured in a verbal altercation with the Tautuaas while the players and their families were on their way out of Mall of Asia Arena Sunday night.

MANILA, Philippines–San Miguel came out of the gates hard on Sunday and kept the same intensity the rest of the night to hack out a 109-85 victory and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

Import Bennie Boatwright Jr. and Best Player of the Conference contender CJ Perez joined hands in a strong quarter that pretty much dictated the tempo of the clash at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

MANILA, Philippines–Game 2 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals is just a few hours away and San Miguel Beer may not be looking at merely the usual suspects as it prepares to go for a 2-0 series lead against Magnolia.

Joseph Eriobu checked in late and poured all of his seven points to grease Magnolia’s last-ditch effort to snatch Game 1 from the clutches of the Beermen late Friday night.

Jorge Gallent insists that he can’t take sole credit should he and the San Miguel Beermen end up seizing the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup crown—a goal that could come to within just two wins by Sunday’s end.

“It’s not a personal goal. For me, the goal is for the team,” he said before the Finals series with the Magnolia Hotshots began. “I’m not thinking of myself, I’m just here to guide the players.”
