Lorene Toring suffers ACL injury, ends Adamson stint

MANILA, Philippines — Lorene Toring bid farewell to Adamson after suffering from an ACL injury ahead of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament, which opens on February 17 at Mall of Asia Arena.
Toring on Wednesday took to Instagram to share that she suffered a season-ending knee injury, which denied her final playing year with the Lady Falcons.
“As much as I had hoped and dreamed of playing my last UAAP Season alongside my teammates, I have come to accept that sometimes, God has different plans for us. It is with a heavy heart that I must share the news that an ACL injury has sidelined me for the foreseeable future,” the Adamson middle blocker wrote.

Adamson coach JP Yude bared that Toring slipped in a practice last January and already went under the knife to repair her ACL injury.
The first-year Lady Falcons coach believes God has better plans for his player, wishing her well on her road to recovery.
Toring promises to support her teammates in the upcoming season as the Lady Falcons stunned the Akari Chargers in five sets to rule the Akari Invitational Cup on Wednesday.
“To my teammates, you have been more than just friends; you’ve been my second family. While I may not be able to physically join you on the court this season, please know that I will be cheering you on from the sidelines,” she said.

Toring added she had mixed emotions as she bade farewell to her teammates, coaches, and the whole Adamson community.
“As I bid goodbye, I carry with me a lifetime of memories and lessons that I will cherish forever. I am proud to say that I am a Vincentian student-athlete. Farewell to the place that helped shape me, my beloved Adamson University,” she said.
Toring started playing for Adamson in the 2020 season. She was instrumental in the Lady Falcons’ bronze medal finish in the last UAAP season and played in a couple of preseason finals and best middle blocker awards.
Toring and team captain Lucille Almonte opted to stay with Adamson amid the departure of Trisha Tubu, Louie Romero, Kate Santiago, and other Lady Falcons, who turned pro and joined ex-coach Jerry Yee at Farm Fresh.
