MANILA, Philippines–A surprise starter in Game 5, Simon Enciso did not disappoint San Miguel by giving the Beermen a big lift in a pivotal clash in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Sunday.

Enciso also made sure to make Game 5 memorable for his dad, who was in attendance at Smart Araneta Coliseum watching him play for the first time in a decade.

MANILA, Philippines—Facing elimination, Tyler Bey still likes Magnolia’s chances heading into Game 6 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Wednesday.

Despite dropping the pivotal Game 5 to San Miguel Beer, 108-98, Bey believes a championship remains winnable for the Hothosts and beating the Beermen twice in a row is possible as what they have shown in Games 3 and 4.

MANILA, Philippines—Magnolia gambled on leaving San Miguel guard Jericho Cruz open from the perimeter and it paid a hefty price on Sunday.

Cruz had a field day, tying his career-high of 30 points to shoot the Beermen past the Hotshots, 108-98, in Game 5 for a 3-2 lead in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

MANILA, Philippines–San Miguel flaunted its poise all Sunday night to weather Magnolia, 108-98, taking control of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup championship series three games to two.

Jericho Cruz hit eight and matched his career-best 30 points to lead all of the Beermen in the wire-to-wire victory at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
