MANILA, Philippines–After giving powerhouse Creamline a hard time in their season opener, Farm Fresh finally logged its first victory in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
Trisha Tubu and Chinnie Arroyo joined hands to easily lift the Foxies past league neophyte Capital 1, 25-16, 25-18, 25-16, on Thursday at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The former Adamson standout finished with 15 points including two blocks while Arroyo had her best performance yet for her new squad with 11 points built around 10 points and an ace.
SCHEDULE: PVL All-Filipino Conference 2024
“We still have a few lapses but we know that all throughout the conference, we can still polish those in the game,” Tubu said in Filipino after Farm Fresh improved to a 1-1 win-loss record.
Capital1 couldn’t get back on track in the second frame even after the Foxies committed 11 errors. But there was also no let up on the side Farm Fresh which poured 15 attacks on top of a three block advantage.
And Farm Fresh did not want to give the Solar Spikers a chance to get a set, rushing to an early 7-2 lead in the final frame.
Arroyo, who joined the Foxies after F2 Logistics discontinued competing in the pro ranks, embraced her bigger role and helped Farm Fresh keep its control of the game, 17-13.

The Foxies then delivered an 8-2 run capped by Rizza Cruz’s down the line attack to secure the sweep.
“We are still expecting more from ourselves as a team because we still have lapses,” Foxies setter Louie Romero said.
“The coaches just told us to focus on our opponent now before thinking of the next one,” the team captain said after distributing the ball with 12 excellent sets.
Capital1 and coach Roger Gorayeb have still yet to find their footing in the league after being swept once again and drop to a 0-2 standing.
Sydney Niegos top-scored for the Solar Spikers with nine points while four others finished with three points a piece.
Farm Fresh will hope to have the same result as it faces Akari While the Solar Spikers will face another league newcomer in SGA both on March 5 in the same Pasig City venue.
