MANILA, Philippines—Veteran forward Sean Anthony said NLEX can’t make excuses following a loss to Terrafirma on Sunday in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Playing their second game in three days, the Road Warriors bowed to the Dyip, 99-95.
“We can’t have an excuse because they (Dyip) also played two days ago. We both had just one day turnaround so yes, we’re fatigued but they’re the same,” said Anthony at Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.
“There’s no advantage, we both had games on Friday.”
SCHEDULE: PBA Philippine Cup 2024
Terrafirma also played two nights ago, beating Converge, 107-100.
Anthony registered six points and six rebounds in the loss but he lamented making some of the game’s biggest mistakes.
The 38-year-old Anthony missed two point-blank shots that would’ve put the Road Warriors on par with Terrafirma in the payoff period.
“I missed point-blank shots and had a big turnover at the end too but we’re getting stops down the stretch a little bit.”
Robert Bolick had a near double-double in the defeat with 29 points and eight assists while Jhan Nermal’s 15 points also went for naught.
On the other end, the guard tandem of Juami Tiongson and Stephen Holt recorded 21 and 17 points, respectively for Terrafirma.
