MANILA, Philippines — Aduke Ogunsanya has suffered another Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury this time in her left knee, and will miss the remainder of the 2024 PVL Season.

Choco Mucho on Saturday morning announced that Ogunsanya will be sidelined anew after she hurt her left knee in the third set of their 25-12, 25-22, 25-18 victory over Nxled last February 22 at FilOil EcoOil Centre.

“After the latest round of medical tests, the doctors diagnosed Aduke to have injured her ACL and other structures in her left knee last February 22, 2024, in the game versus NXLED. This injury will require surgery and 9-12 months of rehabilitation before she can make a comeback,” the statement read.

The 5-foot-11 middle blocker fell awkwardly off a block attempt when the Flying Titans were leading the third set, 21-17.  The middle blocker cried out in pain, but was able to stand up after a few minutes and walk to the locker room.

Ogunsanya has just recently recovered from a right ACL injury when she suffered a season-ending setback in the 2022 season.

“We are disheartened by this unfortunate development, considering Aduke had just fully recovered from her previous injury and is making a strong return. We are, however, confident in her resilience and spirit to overcome this challenge once again,” said the team.
