PVL: Ivy Lacsina lights up Galeries, powers Nxled to first win
MANILA, Philippines–Nxled leaned heavily on new acquisition Ivy Lacsina and smashed Galeries Tower, 25-21, 25-18, 25-15, in an emphatic breakthrough victory on Tuesday night at the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
Lacsina was nearly unstoppable at the net, firing 17 attack points while likewise doing a splendid job on the defensive end with 11 digs.
Article continues after this advertisement“This will help us rise (from the bottom of the standings). We just have to be patient and improve our teamwork,” said Lascina after the Chameleons finally broke into the win column following three consecutive defeats.

Lycha Ebon backstopped Lacsina in bombarding the Highrisers with 15 points, 11 of them attacks, apart from delivering three blocks while Camille Victoria added 10 points, most of them in the final set.
Victoria’s effort at the net and Chiara May Permentilla’s ace created the separation the Chameleons needed before back-to-back strikes by Lacsina sealed the opening set.

Kamille Cal’s push coupled with a Galeries Tower service miscue and Ysabel Jimenez’s attack error widened the gap further before Lacsina punched in two more kills that put them 10 points ahead.
Roma Doromal sneaked in an ace, pulling the Highrisers within seven but a series of service errors didn’t help their cause.
Lacsina again bore holes at the enemy line, her crosscourt hit and down-the-line strike providing the Chameleons a two-set advantage.
Grazielle Bombita scored through the block as the Highrisers put on a semblance of a fight and yet Nxled immediately countered with an offensive onslaught of its own.

Jhoana Maraguinot’s explosive approach off the block and an Ebon ace finally broke the ice followed by a Lacsina crosscourt attack as the Chameleons regained command.
Lacsina knocked down another back-row hit atop a pair of Galeries Tower defenders and Maraguinot found an opening down the middle, stretching their nine-point advantage at set point.
As errors mounted for the winless Highrisers, Dimdim Pacres’ long strike flew beyond the end line that cemented Galeries Tower’s fourth straight setback.
Jimenez led the Highrisers with eight points and Doromal added seven points and 12 digs.
