Creamline stakes its unbeaten slate against a Chery Tiggo side reeling from a shock straight-set defeat the last time out as the Premier Volleyball League holds its weekend triple-bill in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, on Saturday.
This marks the league’s first venture outside of the Big City in the All-Filipino Conference (AFC) with the Cool Smashers eager to showcase their skills at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex.
Creamline is determined to extend its unbeaten run to five games, and 20th overall counting its 15-game sweep of the second AFC last year, with coach Sherwin Meneses expressing satisfaction with his team’s performance five weeks into the single-round eliminations.
SCHEDULE: PVL All-Filipino Conference 2024
“I like the way the team is playing, because they continue to work hard,” Meneses said in Filipino on the eve of their 2 p.m. clash with the Crossovers. “The girls are just playing their game, no matter who is at the other end of the floor.”
“They simply have complete focus,” Meneses added as they face a Crossovers side still smarting from a shock loss to Farm Fresh last weekend. Tots Carlos, Jema Galanza, Alyssa Valdez and Michelle Gumabao will be at the forefront of the Creamline offense, while Chery Tiggo will be spearheaded by Eye Laure, Mylene Paat and the seasoned Aby Maraño.
Meanwhile, Capital1 looks to nail a second win in five games as it faces winless Galeries Tower at 4 p.m. while Akari and Nxled break a tie at 1-3 in a duel of sister teams in the 6 p.m. main game.
Akari went into a massive recruitment frenzy in the offseason and is actually underperforming at this stage.
