MANILA, Philippines–Kyt Jimenez, San Miguel’s social media success story, will be missing a milestone in his budding career in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

The crafty rookie guard will be skipping the midseason festivities in Bacolod next week, where he’s supposed to compete in the newcomers’ exhibition, following a freak injury that left him with 19 stitches across his right forearm.

SCHEDULE: 2024 PBA Philippine Cup

“I would still want to join the trip but the doctors advised against traveling (by air),” Jimenez said on his way out of Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday night, shortly after the Beermen rolled past Rain or Shine, 109-97, for its first win in its defense of the Philippine Cup.

Jimenez fell inside his bathroom and cut himself after trying to blunt his slippage with his left hand, cutting his arm with shattered glass.
