MANILA, Philippines—James Yap scored a conference-high 30 points as B-Meg turned back Rain or Shine, 91-81, Wednesday night to force Game 6 in the PBA Governors Cup Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Llamados, who led by as much as 14, withstood every run made by the Elasto Painters and delivered the punch to finally put the game away.
“I think it was our turn to play like wounded tigers,” said B-Meg head coach Tim Cone. “We came out and played with tremendous energy.”
Yap knocked down a jumper with 1:40 left that sealed the win for B-Meg, which pulled to within 2-3.
Import Marqus Blakely had 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Game 6 will be on Friday at the same venue.
