Asia Motocross: Namssa fielding big contingent
Namssa’s top motocross riders take on their counterparts from other Asian nations and Australia next month when they compete in the FIM Asia Motocross Championships scheduled on July 15 and 16, in Kuala Terangganu, Malaysia.
The event will once again bring together top riders from Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Mongolia, India, Sri Lanka, Iran, Australia and the Philippines to dispute individual and team honors.
The races will be telecast to a potential 500 million global audience over ESPN and Star Sports networks.
Article continues after this advertisementThe event is being made possible through the initiative of HRH Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, the reigning King of Malaysia and Macky Carapiet, the concurrent FIM Asia and Namssa (National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association) president.
Namssa is fielding a 31-man contingent to the event composed of riders, coaches and officials.
Kenneth San Andres, a four-time National Motocross Rider of the Year awardee, heads local riders competing in the Asian MX2 category.
Article continues after this advertisementSan Andres, who anchored the Philippine motocross team that competed in the 2nd round of the FIM Asian Motocross Championship held in Surabaya, Indonesia, last week, will get support from multi-titled veteran Jolet Jao, brothers Migi and Miko Tolentino, 2010 Asian Junior 85 champion Jean Erick Mitra, Chadwick Garcia, Zeraj Omar Aman, Cheaster Hinayo, Mark Anthony Gonzales and Norman Moreno in the centerpiece category.
