“It’s just a sign of respect and how much I love my wife. That’s how it is for me and like I say, I’m a loving man, I’m a loving dad to my kids and I love my family,” Cruz told Inquirer Sports the Beermen’s close win over Terrafirma, 113-110 at Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Wednesday.

Cruz said he gets teased in the comments about his wife, but he’s not afraid to admit that Mossah is indeed the boss of him.

“When my wife pranks me, fans online say, ‘ang angas-angas sa court, pagdating sa bahay tiklop sa asawa,’” Jericho said. “Well, totoo naman eh. Kahit sino naman siguro, ‘di ba?’”

Jericho said that the playful jokes are part of their bonding as a family and husband and wife when he’s not under service for coach Jorge Gallent in the PBA Philippine Cup.

“After practice, I’m just at home, chilling with my wife and kids. I’m really more of a family guy. Every time we have days off, I try to spend the most time with my kids and wife because they’re growing older and I want to see them grow so I’m just trying to be a family man,” Cruz said.

It seems like his wife and family are serving as perfect fuel for Jericho as he’s currently averaging 14.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the all-Filipino conference.

He scored nine points with four assists, two steals and two rebounds to match in the Beermen’s dub over Dyip to keep San Miguel’s record unblemished after five games.
