MANILA, Philippines—Converge rookie Bryan Santos had one memo on Sunday in the PBA Philippine Cup and he executed it perfectly.

In the FiberXers’ 104-99 win over Meralco, coach Aldin Ayo reminded Santos to do one thing after his abysmal first half.

“I told my shooters and Bryan here, be unconscious,” recalled Ayo at Philsports Arena.

Santos took that reminder to heart and scored all of his team-high 22 points in the second half.

The University of Santo Tomas product showcased his fine shooting touch, knocking down 70 percent of his attempts from long distance.

Santos, though, deflected the credit to his teammates.

“I only did those because of our plays and my teammates. They give me confidence,” said Santos.

Santos also expressed his gratitude to Ayo for giving him more playing time.

“It’s a big thing that I had more minutes inside the court. Firstly, coach trusts me a lot so why wouldn’t I do my job?”

“I also didn’t expect that he’d be giving me that amount of minutes. It’s really because of my teammates. I also don’t get tired from playing because we all enjoy it inside the court.”
