MANILA, Philippines–Marcio Lassiter moved into fourth place on the career three-pointers made list that served as one of the highlights of San Miguel Beer’s emphatic victory over NorthPort in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Lassiter knocked down four triples in the 120-100 rout at Philsports Arena in Pasig City, surpassing Blackwater’s James Yap while closing in on record-holder Jimmy Alapag, Allan Caidic and Barangay Ginebra’s LA Tenorio.
“It’s a tremendous feat,” Lassiter said. “Just to be in the same breath as the legends before me, even to be on the same platform and just to grace the court with them is truly a blessing.”
SCHEDULE: 2024 PBA Philippine Cup
The 12-year veteran now has 1,197 triples, trailing only Alapag with 1,250, Caidic with 1,242 and Tenorio, who as of the ongoing tournament has 1,218.
Yap fell to fifth with 1,194, his tally currently at a halt after being sidelined the past two games with an injury.
His move up the ladder came a day after Magnolia’s Paul Lee became the 10th player in history to hit 1,000 threes.

Lee reached the milestone during the Hotshots’ out-of-town victory over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in Tiaong, Quezon.
Lassiter joined the club in June 2022, but had kept his consistency in shooting the long ball for the Beermen.
“Just thankful that I haven’t been injured as much and I was able to contribute to the team,” he said.
