NCAA volleyball: Mapua, Perpetual gain share of fourth
MANILA, Philippines—The Final Four race in the NCAA Season 99 women’s volleyball tournament intensified with Mapua and Perpetual Help tallying wins to create a logjam for the last semifinal slot on Tuesday.
The Lady Altas squeaked by San Beda, 20-25, 25-13, 22-25, 25-17, 15-6, at San Juan Arena.
Article continues after this advertisementShaila Omipon powered Perpetual Help with 26 big points while Mary Rhose Dapol and Winnie Bedana scored 17 and 16 points, respectively to give the Lady Altas a 3-2 card.
Angel Mae Habacon’s 27-point outing was not enough for the Lady Red Spikers as they crashed to a 1-4 card.
The Lady Cardinals, meanwhile, continued to show their prowess with a 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 drubbing of Jose Rizal University.

No Lady Heavy Bomber scored in double digits with Gayle Batara and Karyla Jasareno scattering seven points each in the loss that put them in a 1-4 slump.
Mapua and Perpetual joined Arellano University in the three-way tie for fourth place.
College of St. Benilde is currently on top with five wins in as many games with Letran (4-1) and Lyceum (4-0) comfortably creeping behind.
