MANILA, Philippines—Dave Ildefonso was in attendance during Rain or Shine’s quarterfinals showdown against TNT in the PBA Philippine Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Friday to support older brother Shaun.

Of course, the younger Ildefonso’s sighting in the PBA could raise questions, including whether he would take his talents to the country’s premier basketball league.

When asked if his next stop is the PBA, Dave was non-committal but he also clarified that he’s still settling his contract with the Suwon KT Sonicboom in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).

“[There’s] nothing final yet, there’s still a back and forth. Hopefully, there’s an extension,” said Dave in Filipino.

“I don’t know my next move yet, if [it’s in] Korea or Philippines but maybe in a month or two, we’ll know for sure.”

Dave bared that his contract with KT Sonicboom will end on the tail-end of May and there are still no agreements of a contract extension, as of writing.

His squad lost the KBL Finals just a few days ago at the hands of KCC Egis in a 4-1 series.

The 6-foot swingman had only limited playing minutes during Suwon’s season.

So in hopes of showing his prowess on the court like he did during his championship year with Ateneo in 2022, Dave is weighing his options to play on home soil again.

“I’ve been missing the Philippines a lot. Other leagues are possible like PBA, PSL, or MPBL, really anywhere that’s home. Nothing sure though, still 50-50. I could play here, I could play abroad but I really miss the Philippines, honestly.”
