Strong Group to represent PH in Jones Cup
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines will be represented by Strong Group Athletics (SGA) in the 43rd William Jones Cup slated from July 13 to 21 in Taiwan.
Charles Tiu, who will call the shots for SGA in the upcoming tournament alongside Rajko Toroman, said the goal is to bring the Jones Cup title back to the Philippines.

The last time the country took home the top prize was back in 2019, when Mighty Sports ruled the tournament under the tutelage of Tiu.
Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas executive director Erika Dy also extended her support for SGA.

Mr. Frank Lao, his son Jacob, and Strong Group have shared their desire to bring back the Jones Cup championship trophy to the country and bring joy to Filipinos overseas,” said Dy.
“The SBP is thankful for their partnership in this Jones Cup mission,” she added.
SGA is still building a squad that “will be ready to win it all,” according to Tiu.
Last January, Strong Group, led by former NBA superstar Dwight Howard, finished second in the Dubai International Basketball Championship.
