MANILA, Philippines—PBA player Kevin Alas and his wife Selina Dagdag are expecting their first child.
After a string of unfortunate events in the past years, Kevin and Selina welcomed more good news as they announced they are now six months pregnant.
“Who would’ve thought that a cancer survivor would still conceive? Yet here we are, hitting 6 months in a few weeks,” wrote Selina and Kevin on Wednesday.

“What a mighty God we worship- proving to us that His power is made perfect in our weakness,” added Selina, quoting the bible verse 2 Corinthians 12:9.
It’s been a long time coming for Mr. and Mrs. Alas after a miscarriage in the first part of 2022.
In April of the same year, Selina was diagnosed with gestational trophoblastic neoplasia–a rare type of cancer.

Fortunately, she was declared cancer-free and it’s been smooth sailing for the couple until the following year when Kevin re-injured his ACL for the third time during an NLEX Road Warriors’ game in the 2023 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
