The Philippine women’s volleyball national team, now known as Alas Pilipinas, tries to salvage the bronze medal in the 2024 Asian Women’s Volleyball (AVC) Challenge Cup at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Alas Pilipinas, which topped Pool A with a 4-0 sweep, fell to Kazakhstan in the do-or-die semifinals on Tuesday and was relegated to the battle of bronze set for Wednesday.
The Philippines has a chance to win a medal in any AVC tournament in 63 years. Alas Pilipinas beat Australia, India, Iran and Chinese Taipei to get to the knockout round.
Kazakhstan, meanwhile, battles defending champion Vietnam in the gold medal game.
The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Challenger Cup.

AVC Challenge Cup 2024 Tournament Format
After a single round-robin in the group stages, the top two per pool move to the semifinals while the rest of the teams are relegated to the classification round.
