MANILA, Philippines—The Filipino import free agency frenzy continues in the Japan B.League.

This time, it’s Bobby Ray Parks Jr. who could be departing Nagoya after the club announced that his contract with the Diamond Dolphins has expired.

But the contract expiration doesn’t completely spell the end for both Parks Jr. and Nagoya as negotiations for an extension or a re-signing is still very much in motion.

“Ray Parks Jr. had expired his contract with Nagoya Diamond Dolphins for the 2023-24 season,” wrote the team in an Instagram post.

Parks Jr. will also be released to the B.League free agency negotiation list today (Tuesday) at 15:00. However, negotiations will continue with Parks Jr.”

It’s not too long ago when Parks Jr. and Nagoya had a commendable run in the recently concluded season.

The Diamond Dolphins, backed by Parks Jr., reached the B1 semifinals only to fall prey to the Hiroshima Dragonflies, last week.

In a do-or-die Game 5, Parks Jr. poured it all with 20 points, three rebounds and three assists but Nagoya still failed to reach the B1 Finals with a 79-73 defeat.

For the 2023-24 season, the former TNT swingman posted norms of 8.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 0.8 steals per game.

Recently, Filipino imports like Thirdy and Kiefer Ravena and Kai Sotto have all parted ways with their B.League clubs and joined free agency.
