In this day and age, investing in one’s health and well-being should be non-negotiable. To live one’s best life and reveal one’s inner champion, one needs to adopt a healthier lifestyle, which can be as simple as observing a balanced diet, having adequate rest and relaxation, and doing regular physical activity.

Maxicare

Southstar Drug and Maxicare, champions of health and wellness, encourage and motivate Filipinos to sprint toward their best lives and become champions of their own through Run for Wellness. Now in its 13th year, Run for Wellness is an annual event that aims to promote physical health and well-being through running.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Maxicare again to empower Filipinos to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. Run for Wellness is meant to be a starting point for many on their wellness journey. It is a chance for participants to develop healthier habits to add to their daily routines,” said Mariel Crisostomo, General Manager of Southstar Drug.

“Through this partnership, Maxicare reaffirms its commitment to enable a healthier future for Filipinos by promoting healthy habits and delivering the finest healthcare services. Together with Southstar Drug, we aim to be your health partners as you embark on living your best life,” said Christian Argos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Maxicare.

Run for Wellness will be held on June 16, 2024, at UP Diliman in Quezon City and on September 15, 2024, in Naga City. With the theme ‘Raise. Run. Rise,’ the race course will consist of in-race installations and activities, including boxing, pole vault, and gymnastics, that runners can try.

This year’s edition of Run for Wellness will also support the country’s national athletes. A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to partner Filipino athletes, namely Eumir Marcial, Aira Villegas, Nesthy Petecio, John Ceniza, Elreen Ando, Vanessa Sarno, Levi Jung-Ruivivar, and Joanie Delgaco; which they can utilize to help support their quest for gold in their upcoming competitions.

“We are very happy to be honoring our homegrown Filipino athletes. They have always displayed great passion and dedication in bringing glory and pride to our country and inspired so many others to embrace their inner champions as well,” said Ms. Crisostomo.

Southstar Drug is one of the Philippines’ largest and most established drugstore chains. With over 600 stores nationwide and a user-friendly online platform, it provides a wide range of affordable medicines, products, and services.
