MANILA, Philippines — All UAAP juniors’ basketball games scheduled Tuesday were postponed due to torrential rains while officials have yet to announce whether the seniors doubleheader set Wednesday would push through.
The matches between FEU-Diliman and UPIS, La Salle-Zobel and Adamson, UE and NU, and Ateneo and UST were rescheduled tentatively on August 9.
Meanwhile, the men’s basketball games face another possible suspension due to the heavy rains that flooded Metro Manila over the past days
But according to UAAP president Nilo Ocampo in a statement posted on the Online Media Bureau’s account (@UAAPSeason75), “If the rains stop this afternoon, we will go ahead with the games tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum.”
Adamson faces a likewise struggling squad in La Salle in the 2 p.m. match while University of Santo Tomas shoots to extend its streak against winless University of the East at 4 p.m. in Wednesday’s games.
The games postponed last July 21 (UE vs Adamson at 2 p.m, UP vs UST at 4 p.m.) Were reset to August 15 at the Araneta Coliseum, but ticket arrangements and refunds have yet to be announced.
