The UAAP gave way to the victims of the severe flooding in Pasig City and other places who are using the Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA), the supposed venue for the games, as their evacuation center.
The games originally scheduled last Wednesday will be played on Sunday instead at the Araneta Coliseum, as La Salle and Adamson, University of Santo Tomas and University of the East finally get their chance at each other at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
Originally scheduled this Saturday, UST and Adamson will slug it out at 2 p.m. on August 19 instead and cellardwellers UE and University of the Philippines will fight it out to avoid the bottom at 4 p.m.
La Salle and National University tangle in the curtain raiser at 12 noon on August 18 while top squads Far Eastern University and Ateneo clash for the top spot at 4 p.m.
Venues for the seniors matches will be at Araneta Coliseum.
The games postponed last July 21 (UE vs Adamson at 2 p.m., UP vs UST at 4 p.m.) have been already reset to August 15 at Araneta Coliseum, but the ticket arrangement and refunds have yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, the opening of the UAAP badminton competition Saturday will push through as scheduled at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
