MANILA, Philippines—Gilas Pilipinas Women failed to end their campaign at the 2024 William Jones Cup on a winning note after falling to Chinese Taipei A, 82-66, Wednesday night at Xinzhuang Stadium in Taiwan.

Gilas wrapped up its Jones Cup campaign with a 2-3 record for fourth place in a six-team field.

Japan won the title after completing a 5-0 sweep following a 94-63 whipping of Thailand on Wednesday.

Gilas’ loss to the host came just a day after it held off Thailand, 68-58.

Veteran center Jack Animam was held to just eight points and nine rebounds for Gilas.

Afril Bernardino and Stefanie Berberabe added 12 points each.

Lin Yuting powered Chinese Taipei with 15 points while Lin Die and Peng Shiqing combined for 28 points.
