MANILA, Philippines — Galeries Tower had a last-minute import replacement as Thai spiker Sutadta Chuewulim fills in the void left by Brazilian spiker Monique Helena in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.

Sutadta, who arrived on Monday, received the clearance to play against Nxled in the opening game of Pool A.

Helena, who landed in Manila on June 27, is still with the team. Galeries coaches Lerma Giron and Godfrey Okumu said they would clarify the status of their imports after the game.

Nxled, on the other hand, brought in two imports Meegan Hart and Xuanyao Jiang. But the Chameleons will field the American import to bolster their team after she secured a clearance to play minutes before the game.

Hart is a middle blocker out of Iowa State University and Colorado University before playing in Cyprus.

The 31-year-old Sutadta is no stranger to Philippine volleyball as she played in PVL’s predecessor Shakey’s V-League with Cagayan in 2012.

The former Thai national team player also saw action in the defunct Philippine Superliga with the United Volleyball Club and last played in the PVL for the Perlas Spikers in 2019.

Galeries will be pinning its hopes on Roma Joy Doromal, Alyssa Eroa, Audrey Paran, Renee Mabilangan, and rookie Jewel Encarnacion.

Nxled listed rookies Lucille Almonte and Razel Aldea as reserves for the match with Chinese coach Chen Gang leaning on Jho Maraguinot, Chiara Permentilla, Lycha Ebon, Jaja Maraguinot, and Bang Pineda.
