Paris Olympics: Kiyomi Watanabe ‘no regrets’ after early exit
MANILA, Philippines—Team Philippines’ Kiyomi Watanabe said she had no regrets despite a quick end to her campaign in the women -63kg judo at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Watanabe was no match for China’s Tang Jing in their round of 32 match at Champ-de-Mars Arena, where the Filipino-Japanese lasted just 51 seconds.
Article continues after this advertisement“I knew she was strong. I wanted to see how far I could hold out what I’ve learned,” said an emotional Watanabe, a two-time Olympian.

“I’ve had a lot of support and it’s pretty tough to get so I have no regrets.”
The match was like a repeat of what happened at the Tokyo Games.
