Unbeaten schools destroy UAAP juniors rivals
UNBEATEN squads National University and Far Eastern University-Diliman continued to share the top spot after dumping separate opponents in the UAAP juniors basketball tournament yesterday at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
John Cauilan fired 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead a balanced charge as the defending champion Bullpups routed University of the Philippines, 69-47, to stretch their winning run to six games.
The Baby Tamaraws also improved to 6-0 following an 80-59 drubbing of Adamson behind reigning MVP Jerie Pingoy, who unloaded 21 points.
Article continues after this advertisementPingoy, along with NU standout Hubert Cani, will leave for Mongolia tomorrow to join the Energen Pilipinas under-18 team that left yesterday for the Fiba Asia U18 tournament.
Juniors action will also take a break to give way to the national team’s international campaign.
In other results, University of Santo Tomas tripped La Salle Zobel, 78-71, to grab solo third at 4-2, while Ateneo blasted University of the East, 79-53, to climb to fourth at 3-3.

Other matches pit La Salle versus NU, UST against Adamson, and UP versus UE.
