MANILA, Philippines — Nxled welcomes Italian coach Ettore Guidetti for the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference in November, replacing Chinese tactician Chen Gang after one conference.

The Chameleons on Friday introduced Guidetti, who will try to help Nxled rise from a 1-7 record in the Reinforced Conference.

“The Nxled Chameleons’ new Italian head coach brings 20 years of coaching experience, including stints in Italy, Poland, and Sweden,” the team announced. “We’re thrilled to have you here, Coach! It’s time to get everything back on track in the gym! Let’s go!”

Ettore handled the Sweden women’s and girls’ national teams from 2019 to 2022.

Coach Chen after the Reinforced Conference said he’ll head back home to China to ponder if he’ll return but he enjoyed his short stint in the Philippines amid a seven-game skid.

Chiara Permentilla, Jho Maraguinot, Lycha Ebon, and middle blocker Andrea Marzan will be playing under Italian coach with his staff Raffy Mosuela and Babes Castillo.

Nxled changed its coach for the past three conferences after coach Taka Minowa and Ivy Lacsina, Kamille Cal, Cams Victoria, and Dani Ravena, who made a breakthrough finals with Akari, were traded for former Chargers Trisha Genesis, Bang Pineda, and Jaja Maraguinot. Dindin Santiago-Manabat was part of the deal but she opted out and signed with Choco Mucho.
