PBA: Troy Rosario gets going in 2nd half in latest Blackwater win

MANILA, Philippines—It was a tale of two halves for Troy Rosario, who came alive in the second half for the suddenly streaking Blackwater in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

Rosario fired all of his 15 points in the last two quarters after a scoreless first half to help the Bossing cruise past the NLEX Road Warriors, 110-99, for their third consecutive victory.

Rosario took the backseat on offense as he was tasked to guard Road Warriors’ Myke Henry.

“For me, I just follow whatever my coaches tell me. My job in the first half was to guard the other team’s import. It was hard for me to get my rhythm on offense after picking up early fouls. It’s not easy to guard imports so my offense took a hit,” said Rosario in Filipino.

Rosario discovered his touch in the second half and never looked back.

“In the second half, my teammates were looking for me in the paint and I just kept converting their passes,” he said.

The 32-year-old forward also grabbed 14 rebounds on top of two assists and a block as Blackwater leveled its record to 3-3 in Group B.

Import George King continued his torrid play with 39 points and 15 rebounds. The Bossing have gone 3-0 since replacing Ricky Ledo with King.

“When we’re on the court with George, it’s like basketball is so much easier. We’ll run our plays and if it doesn’t work we have someone to drop it to. George knows what to do so it’s easier to play.”
