Poy Erram had 17 points and 13 rebounds, Rey Nambatac chipped in 15 and 11 as Roger Pogoy and Henry Galinato Jr. accounted for twin-digit scores for the Tropang Giga, who with an 8-2 win-loss mark locked up on Pool A’s No. 1 spot heading into the knockout phase.
“We’ve been working on our offense lately. You saw how much we struggled against Terrafirma, so we had to go back and revisit what we were doing. And I think we saw some positives today,” head coach Chot Reyes said shortly after the win at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

TNT, who decided to rest resident import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, pulled away in the final period, taking the fight out of the Batang Pier, who continued to play with an All-Filipino crew with reinforcement Venky Jois recuperating from an achilles ligament tear.
Arvin Tolentino had 24 points, Cade Flores 18 while Sidney Onwubere delivered seven points and 12 rebounds as the shipping club ended its conference with a 3-7 record.
TNT is on track to play either sister team NLEX or Blackwater depending on the Monday games’ results.
