Magnolia played without letup on Tuesday night to beat Rain or Shine, 129-100, and forge a rubber match in their PBA Governors’ Cup best-of-five quarterfinals duel.

Import Jabari Bird and Paul Lee starred for the Hotshots, who rebounded from a contentious Game 3 overtime loss in Antipolo City and remained in the hunt for a Final Four berth.

“It was all about believing … I think my players were so focused (tonight) and they truly wanted to have another chance on Saturday,” said head coach Chito Victolero following the triumph at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Bird had 30 points, while Lee 25. Jerrick Ahanmisi, Mark Barroca and Ian Sangalang all had at least 10 points in the equalizing win.

Game 5 will be on Saturday at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

Import Aaron Fuller had 22 points and 10 rebounds for Rain or Shine. Jhonard Clarito chipped in 15 while four more added twin digit scores as the ElastoPainters fumbled their first chance at securing a spot in the best-of-seven semifinals.
