UST, FEU beach spikers out to keep UAAP titles

UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University aim to defend their crowns when the UAAP beach volleyball tournament gets going this Saturday at the sand court of University of the East-Caloocan.

Judy Caballejo, last season’s Most Valuable Player, teams up anew with Maru Banaticla as the Tigresses vie for back-to-back women’s titles.

The Tigresses open their campaign versus Adamson’s Pau Soriano and Sheila Pineda at 8 a.m., while Ateneo’s Fille Cainglet and Bea Tan clash with La Salle’s Kim Fajardo and Wensh Tiu at 8:30 a.m.

Far Eastern University and University of the Philippines collide at 9 a.m., while University of the East and National University tangle at 9:30 a.m.

The Tamaraws, who completed an 8-0 men’s championship romp last season, start their quest for a third straight crown against Adamson at 10 a.m.

UST and UP battle at 10:30 a.m., followed by the NU-La Salle match at 11 a.m, and the UE-Ateneo duel at 11:30 a.m. Jasmine W. Payo
