PH’s bet Rubilen Amit absorbs 1st loss in Women’s World 10-Ball

MANILA, Philippines—Rubilen Amit snapped her unbeaten run in the Ya Lin 2012 Women’s World 10-Ball championship, yielding 4-6 to Chinese Taipei’s Chan Ya Ting Wednesday at Robinson’s Galleria.

Bad breaks doomed Amit, trailing to Chan all match long, absorbing her first loss in the group stages after three consecutive wins.

The multititled Amit had a chance to even the match, but sorely missed her attempt on the eight ball in the ninth rack, eventually allowing Chan to score another.

With the loss, Amit lost her get grip on the group’s top spot, which could have led her outright to the Round-of-16.

Earlier, China’s Pan Chiao Ting defeated Australia’s Lydall Hulley, 6-4, while South Korea’s Eun Ji Park routed Italy’s Silvia Gaudino, 6-1.
