MANILA, Philippines—After a much-needed break and quality time with his family in his hometown of Cebu, June Mar Fajardo is ready to hit the court again this time for another tour of duty with Gilas Pilipinas.
Fajardo hasn’t played since San Miguel Beer lost to Ginebra in the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals last month. He was back in the PBA on Sunday at Araneta Coliseum where he was hailed Best Player of the Conference.
“I’ve been okay. My vacation was nice, I just went camping with my siblings and that was good because I got to relax and unwind, even if it’s just for a week,” said Fajardo, who received his 11th BPC plum before Game 4 of the PBA Finals between TNT and Ginebra.

“That was a much-needed rest. I guess that’s enough because tomorrow, I’ll go back to practice.”
The eight-time PBA MVP will be training with Gilas anew for the second window of the 2025 Fiba Asia Cup Qualifiers set later this month.
“I’ve been shooting at home, we have a court anyway so I’ve been working on my game somehow,” he said.

“Every time we’re included in Gilas, we’re happy so I’m excited to play again and I’ll prepare myself for that window.”
The Philippines will open the second window of the qualifiers on November 21 at Mall of Asia Arena against New Zealand.
