26th Sletba-Liza Zapanta Open Championship set November 9 to 17

The Sta. Lucia East Bowling Association (Sletba) is all set to stage its biggest event of the year–the 26th Sletba-Liza Zapanta Open Championships on Nov. 9 to 17 at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center in Cainta.

Players from the National Team as well as from various associations in Metro Manila and the provinces are expected to join the week-long tournament sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Congress (PBF).

This year’s tournament will have seven divisions. These are the Mixed Open Masters, Mixed Classified Masters, Men’s Senior Open Masters, Men’s Senior Associate Masters, Ladies’ Classified Masters, Mixed Youth Masters, and Mixed Rising Stars.

Cash prizes await winners in each division, including a special prize for a perfect game which will be equally divided among winners.

A program to mark the start of the tournament will be held on Nov. 9 at 11 A.M. at the venue. It will be attended by Sletba officials and members and officials from PBF and affiliated associations.

Qualifying rounds will be staged from Nov. 9 to 14, starting at 1 P.M. till 10 P.M. The finals for the divisions start on Nov. 15 till Nov. 17.

Sletba Tournament Director Charles Calamba said the latest PBF average of bowlers will be used for classification and handicapping purposes.
