St. Clare outclassed City College of Pasay, 100-54, for its fifth straight win Tuesday in the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (Naascu) men’s basketball tournament at New Era U gym.
Jammer Jamito, a 6-foot-6 center, led five Saints who scored in double figures with 16 points as St. Clare got going with a 30-8 blast and went on to slap a fifth consecutive loss on the Eagles.
Last year’s runner-up STI won the “cyber-war” against Amacu with an 89-72 decision and moved up to third place with a 3-1 slate behind idle second-placer Centro Escolar (4-0).
New Era improved to 2-3 with a 64-57 win over Fatima (3-2).
It was actually a double triumph for STI as the Baby Olympians dumped the Baby Titans, 75-62. The Junior Phoenix trashed the Junior Hunters, 60-29, in the other junior match.
In women’s action, the Centro Escolar Lady Scorpions overwhelmed the Amacu Lady Titans, 77-37, while Fatima beat St. Clare, 60-51.
