CAINTA, Rizal — A 16-year-old bowler showed how to be a real star in the ongoing 26th Sta. Lucia East Tenpin Bowling Association (Sletba)-Liza Zapanta Open Championships.
Renz Rodriguez of the Fairview Dragons Bowling Association led throughout the 7-game finals of the Mixed Rising Stars division held on Friday, never allowing anyone to close in after rolling a 253 score in his first game.
Rodriguez finished with a 7-game score of 1,389, way ahead of Emz Salvador of the Davao Tenpin Bowling Association who had 1,335 to land second.
Socrisar Guese of ACTBA scored 1,308 to place third, followed by Sletba members Anton de Guzman with 1,289 and Joy Luces with 1,287.
The annual tournament sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Federation (PBF) is being held at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Centre in Cainta, Rizal.
The finals started Friday with the holding of the Mixed Rising Stars games. The finals of the Mixed Classified Masters is underway as of this time.
The other divisions are the Men’s Senior Associate Masters, Men’s Senior Open Masters, Ladies’ Classified Masters, Mixed Youth Masters, and the Mixed Open Masters that will feature players from the national team.
