PH bets’ quarters get facelift

The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and the Philsports Complex, two government-controlled facilities needing drastic facelifts for the national athletes, will have a transformation early next year.

“I’m sure once these projects are finished, all the athletes and the national sports associations will actually be happy,” said Philippine Sports Commission Chair Richard Bachmann, whose office entered into a partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways on Wednesday to have the facilities renovated.

It will ensure the improvement of their living quarters at Philsports in Pasig City, where hundreds of national athletes train even as the PSC began building the seven-storey athletes’ dormitory at RMSC in Manila after its groundbreaking in September.

“We always want to give what is best when it comes to the primary needs of the athletes,” Bachmann added.
