Matthew Wright lifts Kawasaki to skid-ending win in B.League

MANILA, Philippines — Matthew Wright and Kawasaki Brave Thunders snapped a 10-game losing streak after beating the Ibaraki Robots, 82-74, in the 2024-25 Japan B.League season on Saturday at Kawasaki Todoroki Arena.
Wright made sure to end the dry spell in their penultimate game this year, catching fire with 16 points for their fifth win of the season.

The Filipino-Canadian gunner lifted his team in 35 minutes of action as he also dished out six assists and tallied two rebounds, and a steal to improve their record to a 5-20 record.
Alize Johnson also scored 16 points for Kawasaki and grabbed 13 rebounds on top of four assists and a steal.

The former PBA star hopes to end the year 2024 on a high note, eyeing a second win against the Robots on Sunday.
AJ Edu was also triumphant after Nagasaki Velca beat Sendai 89ers, 79-66.
Edu had four points, two blocks, one rebound, and an assist in 13 minutes and 29 seconds of action.
Nagasaki improved to a 13-12 record with Jarrell Brantley leading the way with 19 points and seven assists and Steve Zack putting up a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Dwight Ramos and Levanga Hokkaido yielded to the Seahorses Mikawa, led by Davante Gardner’s 26-point explosion, 86-69, in front of a massive crowd at Es Con Field Hokkaido.
Ramos had four points, five assists, one rebound, and a steal as they dropped to a 9-16 record.
The Hokkaido skipper was cheered by his girlfriend and PVL star Kianna Dy, who watched the game live in Japan.
Ray Parks Jr. also absorbed a tough loss after Osaka Evessa fell to Akita Northern Happinets, 85-73, at CNA Arena.
Parks had 10 points, five rebounds, one block, and an assist in 31 minutes of action only for Osaka to slide to a 13-12 record.
