MANILA, Philippines—Alex Eala missed the cut for the main draw of the 2025 Australian Open anew on Tuesday.
Eala suffered an early exit after absorbing a 7-5, 6-2 qualifying loss at the hands of Croatia’s Jana Fett.
The unseeded Eala bowed out of the Australian Open’s first round of the qualifiers for the third straight year.

The result came just a couple of days after Eala rose to her best WTA ranking at 138th spot.
Fett, who is nine years older than Eala, showed her experience from the get-go, zooming to a 5-2 start.
Eala battled back to knot it at 5-5 but Fett displayed his composure to stave off the Filipino tennis ace’s comeback bid.
