Eleven schools, led by Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, vie in different disciplines in the 14th NCAA South that kicked off last week at the Lyceum International Maritime Academy grounds in Batangas City.
Seeing action in the competitions are San Beda-Alabang, Don Bosco Technical College-Mandaluyong, Letran-Calamba, First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities-Tanauan, Philippine Christian University-Dasmariñas, San Pablo Colleges, University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna, University of Batangas and Saint Francis College of Assisi-Las Piñas.
“We take great pride, honor and pleasure in hosting the NCAA South for the second time,” said LPU Batangas president Peter Laurel. “And it could not be more timely as our school celebrates our 46th founding anniversary.”
Gracing the event were Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, Vice. Gov. Mark Leviste and city Mayor Vilma Abaya-Dimacuha.
Games pitting the UB Brahmans against the San Beda Alabang Red Lions and the Lyceum-Batangas Pirates against the De La Salle-Lipa Green Chevrons ushered in the competition.
Also scheduled in the first sem-ester are volleyball, chess and table tennis. Cedelf P. Tupas
