Middle blocker Risa Sato has found a new home with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the PVL after her departure from Creamline in November of last year.

The Crossovers announced the acquisition of multi-titled Sato on Wednesday, a few days before the resumption of the PVL All-Filipino Conference on January 18

“Yōkoso Risa-san! To our newest addition to our growing family, welcome! Your skills and energy are a game-changer and we can’t wait to have you on the court with us,” Chery Tiggo said in a social media post.

Sato requested an early release from Creamline last year before the new season of the PVL began, making her eligible to suit up right away for the Crossovers this conference.

Sato won 10 PVL titles including the Grand Slam last year with the Cool Smashers, the league’s winningest team.

At Chery Tiggo, Sato will reunite with her National University teammates Jennifer Nierva, Cess Robles, Jasmine Nabor, Joyme Cagande and coach Norman Miguel.

She will also form a formidable core with new teammates Ara Galang, Aby Maraño, Shaya Adorador and Pauline Gaston.

The Crossovers are currently at solo fourth with a 4-2 record in the All-Filipino action.
