MANILA, Philippines — As the PBA Commissioner’s Office approved a blockbuster trade Friday, three of the PBA’s top point guards will be suiting up for new teams as the season opens in September.
Ginebra acquired LA Tenorio, Alaska got youthful guard JVee Casio while new squad Global Port nabbed veteran Willie Miller as the intricate five-team swap went down.
Ginebra first acquired Miller from Barako Bull in exchange for bruiser Enrico Villanueva and then arranged a deal to send Miller and its 2014 first round pick to Global Port for the rights to Casio.
The Gin Kings then shipped Casio, including their 2015 second round pick, to Alaska for the services of Tenorio, who recently showcased his wares in the international stage.

The Aces, who are trying to revive the winning tradition of a storied franchise, also got sniper Dondon Hontiveros off a deal with Petron in exchange for Wesley Gonzales and Hans Thiele.

Tenorio, who spent the bulk of his career in an Aces uniform, thanked Alaska and its fans on Twitter for the “undying love and support you have given me.”
Hontiveros, who have been traded away again from Petron — former San Miguel, meanwhile, apologized for his subpar performance last season.
“Sorry Petron, didn’t get to really be of help last year,” posted Hontiveros just after the trade was approved. “Hoping it would be this year but things happen for a reason.”
