Creamline remains the only undefeated team in the PVL All-Filipino Conference after a quick 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 victory against Capital1 on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Jema Galanza delivered 12 points on 10 attacks and two aces along with 10 excellent digs while Tots Carlos, who played again since Nov. 23 in the Cool Smashers’ matchup against Akari in Candon, Ilocos Sur province, contributed 10 points to power Creamline to a 5-0 record.

“I’m thankful for the players, especially for the two key players returning. We’re happy because our team is getting healthier, and since the conference is long, we really need to help each other out in playing. I’m happy they’re back—that’s the No. 1 thing,” coach Sherwin Meneses said, referring to Carlos and Alyssa Valdez.

Valdez has seven points while Kyle Negrito also tossed 14 excellent sets in the victory.

“I am grateful that even when we’re not around, our teammates and coaches are there to fully support us,” said the returning Carlos who, before that game in Candon, last played in the Finals of All-Filipino in 2024. “They’re very generous enough for giving me time to really take my time to recover.”

“[I am still] a work in progress, but we have support from our PTs who help us so we can play. I’m grateful to have this kind of environment and support from the management and coaches who aren’t rushing us and genuinely want all of us to be healthy,” Carlos added.

The Solar Spikers posed little threat to the defending champions as most of their starters had a tough day even as Trisha Genesis debuted for Capital1 and came up with a team-high 10 points.

SCHEDULE: PVL All-Filipino Conference 2024-2025

Creamline left Capital 1 in the dust in the final frame with a 5-0 run to a 16-10 advantage. Patty Orendain scored the last point for the Solar Spikers but the Cool Smashers were already in control with Michele Gumabao scoring off the block, Lorie Bernardo topping an attack and Galanza disregarding the defense to bring Creamline to match point.

However, an attack error by Orendain handed Creamline the victory with ease.

“It’s a huge confidence booster for all of us knowing na everyone will deliver and stepped up every single game, every situation that’s being given to us. To be in this kind of family, you can see that we’re just pulling each other up no matter what,” Valdez said.

Creamline can make it six in a row with Nxled next on its calendar on Jan. 28 as Capital 1 looks to bounce back in its next game opposite ZUS Coffee on Jan. 25, both still in the Pasig City venue.
