MANILA, Philippines—In Terrafirma’s final game of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, Mark Nonoy didn’t need to look far for extra motivation to push the Dyip in their chase for a lone win in the import-laden conference.

All he needed was to look across the court and there he was– his biggest motivation–TNT’s veteran guard Jayson Castro.

“I got inspired by Kuya Jayson. This is our first time facing off against each other. From my childhood to grade school until high school, I’ve been watching him play,” said Nonoy in Filipino after their 117-108 win over the Tropang Giga at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo on Wednesday.

Rookie Mark Nonoy sizzled for a conference-high 33 points as Terrafirma finished off another miserable campaign by getting its lone win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the expense of erstwhile leader TNT, 117-108, Wednesday at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

The 10th overall pick in the draft had five triples while also knocking down two from the four-point land as the Dyip pulled away in the second half, led by a high of 31 on their way to avoiding a 0-12 campaign in the midseason tournament.

However the conference turns out for Blackwater, coach Jeff Cariaso said people can expect his Bossing to come out the way they did in a gutsy 100-92 victory over Phoenix in their PBA Commissioner’s Cup showdown on Tuesday night at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

Blackwater hammered out the win despite playing without George King and while it briefly kept its flickering hopes alive, the result of the game between NorthPort and San Miguel Beer that was being played at press time could determine how far the Bossing can still go.
