MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala kissed her W125 Mumbai campaign goodbye after bombing out of the singles and doubles tournament on Wednesday in India.

Eala was booted out in the round of 16 of the singles after falling to Japanese Mai Hontama, 6-7(5-7), 2-6.

The 19-year-old Filipino lost steam after the grueling extended first set as the Japanese broke a 2-2 tie in the second frame and won four straight games to advance to the quarterfinals.
