MANILA, Philippines—Rain or Shine veteran Beau Belga played the role of unsung hero perfectly in the Elasto Painters’ Game 3 win over Converge in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals.
In Rain or Shine’s 112-103 win over the FIberXers, the Elasto Painters’ burly vet only clocked in six minutes of action, specifically in the fourth quarter.
Those six minutes spelled all the impact that Rain or Shine needed to march on to the conference’s semifinals.

“I know my role with the team at this conference,” said a content Belga in Filipino at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
“As Deon’s (Thompson) reliever, I know that all I have to do is maintain whatever he left on the court when he goes into the bench.”
For the most part of Rain or Shine’s bout with Converge, no squad could get a definitive leg up the competition.
That was, before Belga unloaded two triples to begin the fourth quarter which ultimately gave the Elasto Painters the breathing room they needed to subdue Converge out of title contention.
He finished with six points, an assist and a rebound in the dub.

“Sometimes when I get the chance to shoot like earlier, I was free twice, I shoot it. The first one, it went in, the second one, I just tried again.”
“I know that I’ll only play three to four minutes because Deon will come back right away. It’s marked in my mind that that’s the only time I’ll play so I just make the most out of it.”
Up next for Rain or Shine is TNT in the semis in a best-of-seven clash beginning after the league’s break that’s giving way for Gilas Pilipinas action.
